CEREC Technology

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is a dental technology that allows us to create a filling or crown in one appointment by the use of CADCAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology. The advantages to CEREC technology is that all your work is done in one appointment. You also avoid messy impressions and wearing temporaries.

In one appointment, we can provide you with porcelain fillings, crowns, or veneers by the use of computers. These procedures don't require messy impressions or wearing a temporary crown for one week while the laboratory fabricates it. Instead, a three-dimensional picture is taken of the prepared tooth, and then the crown / filling is designed by aid of a specialized computer. The crown / filling is then milled out of a solid block of porcelain and bonded in place. The porcelain used has very similar properties to natural tooth enamel. Hence, the tooth is restored very closely to its original state.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a screw that is placed in your jaw and acts as a tooth root. The implant receives a crown to complete the look. Dental implants can replace everything from a single missing tooth to a complete missing arch.
Losing one or more teeth starts a chain of negative physical and cosmetic events such as, a gap in your smile, loss of chewing function and bone loss. Your jawbone needs the chewing action of teeth to keep it strong otherwise it will begin to disappear or atrophy. Without the support of your teeth and facial bones, your face will look prematurely aged. Bridges and dentures address the cosmetic aspect of missing teeth, but they do not address the bone loss. Also, a bridge requires that two or more teeth be ground down to serve as abutments or posts, leaving them at a greater risk for cavities and possibly requiring endodontic treatment (root canal). The bridge will ultimately fail if any of the abutment teeth fail.

With dental implants, the teeth next to the gap areas are left alone. Dental implants, like natural teeth transmit chewing forces to the jawbone thus reducing bone loss. Ask us today about the different dental implant options that are available to you.

Our Services

  • Air Abrasion

Air Abrasion is a service we can offer in many circumstances as it is a technology that is minimally invasive. It allows for drill-less and needle-free fillings by using an instrument much like a small sand blaster. This technology allows us to restore smaller cavities more conservatively and do more delicate work. The benefits beyond it being needle-free is that it is less noisy and has less vibrations than other methods of preparing your tooth for a filling.
  • Bridges, Implants & Dentures

By replacing your lost teeth, you will both look and feel better about your appearance. You will be able to chew your foods more thoroughly, enabling you to properly swallow and digest. This will help your body maximize nutrition levels; which, in turn, will promote good overall health. Having an attractive set of teeth will also help to boost your self-esteem. People always notice a great smile! At Bellamy Dental we offer three different methods to replace your missing teeth. Bridges are a replacement tooth that is fixed to either your natural teeth or a dental implant; they can be used for one or more missing teeth. A dental implant is a screw that is placed into your jaw and acts as a tooth root. The implant receives a crown to complete the look. Bridges and dental implants are solutions that are fixed in the mouth, where as the last option we offer are dentures. Dentures are replacement teeth that are not fixed in the mouth.
  • Digital Radiology

We offer film-free x-rays that are taken by the use of a computer sensor, which requires up to 90% less radiation than standard film. There is no need for chemicals to develop images on film, and no more lost or damaged films. Overall, this process helps the patients, the practice, and the environment.
  • Endodontics

This is essentially root canal treatment for infected teeth and a great alternative to tooth extraction. Root canals preserve your existing tooth or teeth through disinfecting and removing decay from the inner canal system of the tooth and filling and sealing the space with a rubber-like substance. Current methods enable us to perform root canal treatment in one appointment, saving valuable time.
  • Intra-Oral Cameras

A picture is indeed worth a thousand words. Patients can see what procedures need to be performed by viewing their teeth on a computer screen. This allows us the ability to explain and educate our patients to the fullest degree.
  • Laser Gum Therapy

A laser has many benefits. When tissues are treated with a laser, it will not only remove infected tissues, but it will disinfect the area by killing the bacteria that the laser light comes into contact with. This leads to faster healing.
  • Porcelain Filings, Crowns & Veneers with CEREC

In one appointment, we can provide you with porcelain fillings, crowns, or veneers by the use of computers. These procedures don't require messy impressions or wearing a temporary crown for one week while the laboratory fabricates it. Instead, a three-dimensional picture is taken of the prepared tooth, and then the crown / filling is designed by aid of a specialized computer. The crown / filling is then milled out of a solid block of porcelain and bonded in place. The porcelain used has very similar properties to natural tooth enamel. Hence, the tooth is restored very closely to its original state.
  • Sedation

A visit to the dentist can be challenging for many patients as fear or anxiety may surface. At Bellamy Dental you may choose to have us perform procedures on your teeth while under sedation either oral sedation or nitrous oxide ('laughing gas'). This allows you to relax while the procedure is being performed.
  • Tooth Whitening

The choice is yours, in office whitening, or take-home whitening kits. Either way, there is peace-of-mind knowing that a Dentist supervises the whitening process.
  • Triangle Sterilization System

We utilize an automated system that is virtually touchless. A cassette system is used to house the instruments. The cassette is cleansed in a thermal disinfector, dried, wrapped, sealed, and sterilized in an autoclave. This system has clearly demarcated and segregated zones where instruments are stored.
  • Hygiene Maintenance

We have an excellent hygiene team at Bellamy Dental. They are here to ensure you have good oral health habits through check-ups and offering techniques to help you maintain a healthy smile. Our hygiene team offers cleanings, periodontics (gum disease), x-rays and impression services.
  • Extractions

Dental extractions occur when the tooth is infected, impacted, or damaged. This is a procedure where your tooth will be completely removed from your mouth. Common extractions are those of wisdom teeth due to the way they grow in your mouth they can cause discomfort and infections.
  • Night Guard (Bruxism Appliance)

Bruxism is the grinding or clenching of the teeth, which often occurs during sleep. A common treatment for stopping the damage caused by bruxism is the use of a night guard-‐a plastic device that fits over the top or bottom teeth and absorbs the forces caused by grinding.
  • Athletic Mouth Guard

Mouth guards are resilient appliances that fit over the teeth. They help protect against injuries to the teeth and other areas in and around your mouth.
